"The coherent trinity: Glauber, Klauder, Sudarshan"

Резюме: Coherent states were named by Roy J. Glauber in the context of quantum optics in 1963. That same year, closely related concepts were independently introduced by John R. Klauder and E. C. Georges Sudarshan. This talk presents a comparative historical analysis of the simultaneous emergence of coherent states within quantum formalism, exploring their origins, the nuances of their formulations, and the interplay between their similarities and differences.
This will be the content of a chapter for the collective book “History of Quantum Optics”, to be published by Oxford University Press.
